If you don’t remember anything else from this post, please remember this:
A good headshot will open doors for you, a bad headshot will close doors for you before you even arrive!
A recent article in the Washington Post stated that a good headshot is worth £ thousands and could be the difference between landing your dream job, or not.
We live in a social media and internet-based society. Your profile is being searched for on Facebook, LinkedIn, and many other social media and business-based sites. Is the picture you have going to open doors, the one taken on your phone when you were on holiday?
Does your current publicity show you as a professional in your field, do you look confident, professional, and approachable?
The importance of getting your headshot just right has never been more critical.
Whether you are looking for a new job, to increase sales, or to update your current image, it’s time to invest in yourself.
Not all headshots are the same.
Everyone is different, so are you, your goals and requirements different from everyone else.
A Business Entrepreneur will not want the same style headshot image as a Cabaret Singer, or Doctor, or Estate Agent. With my experience, I will guide you through 3 simple steps to provide you with top-quality professional images that will give you the confidence to proceed.
My turnaround is much quicker than that of many others as I understand how important it is to deliver your digital images to you quickly, usually within 7 days or less.
If you don’t like your photograph being taken or you are unsure what to do, then you are not alone.
Firstly, it’s not like going to the dentist. It’s a warm and friendly atmosphere, and, I fully understand, nobody is an expert at having a professional headshot.
I will lead you gently through some simple actions and in 3 small steps, you will have the headshot you have always wanted.
This is a question that is often asked and the answers can vary so it is important that I give you my opinion so we are both on the same page.
A headshot is simply a photo of your face above the collar bone or similar.
A portrait can cover any area of the body from head to foot. More often than not, modern commercial portrait photography is from the waist upwards.
In the main, a portrait shoot is typically for dancers, models, and some singers. In each case, there is more diversity and creativity put into the shot and the props, and even the background where digital backdrops are also used, unlike actor headshots and business portraits.
I have been a freelance photographer for over 10 years covering all ages and styles of commercial and family. Having abroad knowledge in most types of photography I can provide high-quality professional images for any occasion.
The interaction with people from all types of professions and backgrounds with differing goals and desires is extremely interesting and lots of fun.
Commercial headshot photography is serious business but that does not mean it cannot be fun too.
